Winter Market Opens Next Saturday, November 3!

Our winter farmers market is set to open in downtown Wolfeboro on Saturday, November 3 and will continue on the first and third Saturday of each month through April 20, from 10 am to 2 pm. The market will be located in the First Congregational Church of Wolfeboro, at 115 South Main Street, with convenient on-site parking and easy access for all.

The recent survey, which many of you participated in, gave us a strong message that continuing to offer a winter market is important to the community. “We found that we have strong and continuing support and decided to continue the market in the same location and on the same twice-monthly schedule,” said board president Fred Martin. “We’re encouraging new vendors to apply.”

At this time, we have 12 vendors on board for the winter market. The market will feature as a new vendor Wolfeboro’s Burnt Timber Brewing and Tavern, who will offer fresh chicken tacos, prepared from Wotton Farm’s pasture-raised chickens. In addition, as a new vendor, West Ossipee’s Classic Clutter Farm will be at the market with baked goods, jams and jellies, as well as two artisanal soapmakers. We’re still accepting applications from vendors and hope to have even more by opening day. Interested vendors should apply soon, and application materials may be found, here. The winter market will feature fresh vegetables, mushrooms, artisan cheeses, spices, honey, pastured meats, fine oils & vinegars, baked goods (including gluten-free), poultry, eggs, handmade soaps and selected crafts, all from the local area.

In addition to great local products, we’ll continue our DOUBLE SNAP program, which offers double benefits to carriers of the Electronic Benefits Card (EBT). We’ve raised several thousand dollars from the community this year in order to broaden our reach in the community to make high quality local food available to people in need, and we’re proud to continue this service.

As usual, please help us spread the word by encouraging your family, friends and neighbors to join you in supporting the winter market. See you soon!
